Portland Area Volunteer Administrators (PAVA)
Directors and administrators of programs that utilize volunteers in Cumberland County meet to network, share information and learn more about the profession.

If you're interested in joining PAVA, contact Karen Stephenson at kstephenson@unitedwaygp.org or 874.1000 x 318.

Southern Maine Community Organizations Active in Disaster (SMCOAD)
SMCOAD is a collaboration of agencies, individuals, businesses and others working together to help minimize the effects of an emergency on the community by supporting local and county Emergency Management Agencies and first responders. SMCOAD, as an organization, is not a first responder, but provides community assistance with preparation, mitigation and recovery after the first 72 hours following a disaster/emergency.

SMCOAD began after major flooding in 2006 and 2007 struck Cumberland and York Counties. These hard-hit communities quickly realized the importance of bringing organizations together prior to a disaster to quickly and efficiently recover.

For more information on SMCOAD, contact Margaret Cushing at 207.396.6575.
