PORTLAND HOMELESS PREVENTION TASK FORCE

December 12, 2012

In December 2011, the Portland City Council appointed a Task Force on Homelessness to draft a plan to prevent and end homelessness. Jon Jennings (business community leader), UWGP’s President and CEO Suzanne McCormick and former City Councilor Dory-Ann Waxman chaired the task force. Click here to see the task force members.

The final report recommends:

  • Centralizing the in-take process at shelters.
  • Building three 35-unit housing complexes with in-house supportive services for tenants.
  • Expanding case management services to align with the clients’ needs, rather than what is reimbursable.
