This includes strategies for both helping individuals and achieving community-level change. Essential to this work is developing and implementing a strategic and cohesive plan for impact based on an understanding of community needs, an awareness of community resources, a knowledge of local and national best practices and promising strategies, and an ability to leverage and align UWGP’s unique strengths to support the strategies, engage in relationships and partnerships, and measure results.

This role is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing annual and multi-year strategies which will increase United Way of Greater Portland (UWGP)’s revenue. Through focused and inspirational leadership, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining a culture of growth: growth in our business, growth in revenue, and growth in staff through managing, mentoring, and coaching. In addition, he/she must develop a long-term vision that will inspire staff, lead volunteers and donors and yield and great resource development results.
The SVP will be responsible for managing the Director of Workforce Campaign (including all Relationship Managers reporting through that role), the Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, and for personally building and leading the Leaders’ Circle donor program.

This individual must partner directly with staff within Community Impact, Operations, Marketing, and Volunteer Engagement. The appropriate candidate must have the ability to lead the strategic development efforts of UWGP as it enters a bold new phase of organizational growth. This will require superb communications skills, exceptional strategic and administrative abilities, and strong planning, organizational development and measurement skills.
