Director of Financial Stability and Public Policy

The Community Impact Director, Financial Stability and Public Policy and his/her fellow CI Department staff members are responsible for leading the strategic investment of United Way of Greater Portland’s (UWGP) financial and non-financial resources to create the greatest possible impact on UWGP’s priority issues – increasing graduation rates, increasing financial stability, and a Health goal soon to be established. This includes strategies for both helping individuals and achieving community-level change. Essential to this work is developing and implementing a strategic and cohesive plan for impact based on an understanding of community needs, an awareness of community resources, a knowledge of local and national best practices and promising strategies, and an ability to leverage and align UWGP’s unique strengths to support the strategies, engage in relationships and partnerships, and measure results.
