Project Manager – Starting Strong
Increasing graduation rates with successful transition to college is a primary goal of the United Way of Greater Portland the objective of Portland ConnectED. This milestone is a critical predictor of long term success and is important for the economy – people who graduate from high school earn 74% more over their lifetime than those who do not, will live longer, and will have better health. Two critical benchmarks for high school graduation are school readiness and reading on grade level by the end of third grade. Success in these areas is complex and requires parents, schools, community based organizations, and others to partner together.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead Portland ConnectED’s Starting Strong work, focused on school readiness and early grade reading. Located in Portland’s Old Port, United Way of Greater Portland is one of Maine’s premier non-profit agencies and a leader in addressing issues that are vital to our community.
